It was a long flight saved from total misery by a stopover in Singapore. This was Bernie's first experience of this clinical westernized city - the coffee was good, the people polite and the temperature high. We wandered the city, rode on the "eye" and wandered the city some more. - sat on the courtyard tables at the entrance to Raffles and contemplated Singapore in the twenties - Dinner by the river perhaps better described as the city's main drain - the worst lemon chicken I have ever had - the biggest and messiest chilli crab Bernie is ever likely to encounter in a lifetime of gastronomic expeditions.

Off to the airport - 12 hours to Frankfurt - 8 hours sleep - get the terminal bus to the long distance train station and off to Munich - great station - great franfurter - onto a swift train to Munich - thousands of wind farms and acres of solar panels.
So the hotel is only 500 meters from the station - ok which station? - we arrive tired and footsore at the Eurostar hotel in Munich - great place - Spanish chain - modern - cheap - good food - John and Merie arrive.
