Vienna Day 2

Vienna Day 2

Getting tired - started a bit later - head off on the metro at 9:00 - we are now seasoned metro navigators -

Off to see the horses at the Spanish Riding School - line up - observe the high quality queue jumpers - clearly so accomplished that you have to admire rather than admonish them - not a Saturday so no show - just practice - nevertheless plenty of people and at least we can say we have seen the horses - no photographs - cheat by taking some shots off the video display outside - impressive building.

While the other continue watching the horses I sit in the cafe and have a teleconference back to Australia - guys trying to put a GDP value on AARNet's contribution to the deployment of the Internet in Australia .

Bernie is determined to see more of the work of Klimt - off to the Bellevidere Museum - not such seasoned navigators of the underground after all - wrong station - bit of a walk - beautiful weather so all was well.

Nice relatively small exhibition of high quality work - Bernie enthralled.

Visit the shop - some non digital memories acquired - out into the gardens - stroll through them towards the city.

Home tired a bit footsore.

Back into town - where are all these restaurants in the city - bugger - all those that we had seen during the day were just high quality coffee and strudel purveyors - head off the main strip - ah there is one - very local - plenty of smokers - find a table inside - great local faire - golash of veal with butter dumplings and white wine by the glass.

Stroll home - feel safe as usual - surprised by the number of people traveling on the underground drinking beer - also surprised by the absence of any ticket inspectors - we could have continued traveling as dogs and the dogs would have been the only one that knew we were not dogs.
